Peter Fairless… Wow, a proper venue! Never seen it like that before.

Anne Murray… What was the nightclub that burnt down called?

Lucy Pappas… Anne, Are you thinking of the Hi Fi?

Anne Murray… Yes that could be it. I remember being outside and my friends brother was one of the fire crew!

Jacquie Hinves… Happy days spent there.

Lucy Pappas… Wow! I don’t remember it being like that!

Martyn Baker… It was the first club that I had ever heard proper seamless DJ mixing between dance tracks. I was 16 at the time, and it totally knocked me out!

Glenn Piper… I only went in once, and that was to work on a Budgie gig

Stuart Moir… Played that stage many times, lovely memories of my band mates above

Judy Atkinson… Used to go Thursday nights – Steve Maxted on his trapeze!

Reg Wood… Judy, Me too. Great memories.

Tony Davis… Had some fun nights there either djing or drinking

Kathy Harding… I met my husband there in 1972

Vivienne Gibbs… My father worked on the doors back in the day

Ian Watling… Fond memories, great place, thanks for posting

Mick O’Dowd… Saw some class acts here including Centre Page!

Clare Bennett… It wasn’t my sort of place don’t think

Christine Giles… Saw The Sweet there and Lindisfarne

Mark Randall… Would this be where I saw Haircut 100? Was it at some point called ‘Thursdays’ or some such ?

Merv Kennard… Worked with Tony from early 70s. Haven’t seen him for a few years. Hoping to be at next meeting with another newbie.

Robert Searle… Sweet were top notch, fantastic vocals and great backing, a harmony rock band.

Christine Giles… Robert, they were I was surprised

Pete Millington… King Rod and Co playing at The Aquarius in early 1970s (Rod Trowell on Bass and Greg Pierce on Rhythm and Paul Freeman on Drums. Kingsley Trowell on Lead Guitar (out of shot)

Andy Qunta… Great band! Saw them quite a few times, and Factory probably shared the bill with them too!

Harry Randall… How is Greg not seen. Him for a while?

Andy Knight… Paul Freeman on drums?

John Mcewen… Kingsley worked with my dad at W M Stills. He was our door to door insurance agent as well. Busy man!

Dave Weeks… John, my ex brother in law.

Stuart Moir… Greg’s a recluse ha ha not really he doesn’t like fb so if you’ve got his number give him a call.

Barry French… Saw King Rod play many times, great musicians who always put on a really good show. At one Aquarius gig (I think it may have been for the W.M. Stills annual party) King came out for the second set wearing the most outrageous skin hugging tights I’ve ever seen. Talking of Stills I worked there with both King & Greg, I would sometimes pester them with “How do you do this & how can I do that questions about guitars, amplifiers & bands, Both were happy to pass on any advice & never once told me to **** off. Also worked with John McEwan Senior at Stills. A real “Diamond geezer” After doing a gig for the Stills social club we loaded up the Ford Thames van & to our dismay (But to no surprise) it wouldn’t start. John ferried a large chunk of the gear back & forth in his car. Top Man.

Anyone remember seeing this band? Some great acts coming up on this ad, Ben E King, Marv Johnson, The Elgins and Percy Sledge.

Kevin Burchett… on my world travels i was on the same plane as Ben E King and his band between L..A AND Honolulu.

Mick O’Dowd… Went to the Ben E King gig and met him backstage where he signed an album cover for me. Nice bloke with freckles! Also saw The Elgins , Marv Johnson & Percy Sledge who came on wearing a romper suit that left nothing to the imagination and he new it. Good show even so.Also remember seeing Gene Latter there sometime, another superb act. This was the only place in Hastings then that had soul acts on as Hastings was known as a rock town.
