The legendary crooner takes centre stage at the London Palladium for a one-off TV special featuring some of his greatest hits alongside tracks from his new album Melody Road. The show’s host Rob Brydon tells the story of how his musical hero rose from humble beginnings to become one of the world’s most influential and best-loved chart stars. Cameras follow the pair on a journey to Brooklyn, where they visit Coney Island, Brighton Beach, Flatbush and the New York singer’s childhood home, as well as the famous Bitter End club in Greenwich Village.
Alan Esdaile… Whats your favourite Neil Diamond song? I really Solitary Man.
Jim Breeds… I like that track too. I only have one long player of his – Stones. Pretty good album, inc. I am .. I said, and I am .. I said (reprise). Above. Neil Diamond’s famous John Cleese impression 😉
Robert Searle…Easily my favourite song Solitary Man
Jon McCallion… It’s all good
John Storer… It has to be The Monkee’s “I’m A Believer”, followed by Urge Overkill’s version of “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon”. My Dad always loved “Cracklin’ Rosie”
