Ritz – Ain’t Nothin’ and Car Won’t Go supplied by Paul Dengate

Martyn Baker… Sounds a lot better than my dodgy old cassette version Paul . Nice job mate. I’m guessing you have a lot of old recordings?

Paul Dengate… This was from an old DAT copy of the master (15ips?) that I’d copied to the PC a few years ago. I just happened to have extracted this track. I think Car Won’t Go (recorded at Phill Cordell’s) is on SoundCloud – I’ll post the link.

The Confederates 1963 and 1966

1963 Confederates1966 Confederates

supplied by Peter Millington. http://pet842.wix.com/jinks-the-group

Peter Millington… The 1963 picture of the Confederates, L-R Tony Goodman, Peter (Ginger) Millington, Dave Saunders, Johnny Conroy, Trevor Spears. This is one of the earliest pictures of the group after Conroy joined which would put it at July 1963.

The 1966 (January) Confederates pic was taken at the Grove School, where we practiced and shortly after Dave Johnson departed and was replaced by Terry Chedzoy. L-R – Paul Burton, Peter Millington, Johnny Conroy, Terry Chedzoy, Trevor Spears.

Colin Fox… Love the Hank Marvin specs. lol. Obviously worked, as I have never seen you wearing glasses before. I know a lot of guys in bands used to wear glasses in the Shadows era even if they didn’t need them, in fact I think I did for a while. What a plonker.

Peter Millington… Correction glasses or a white stick, no choice really. Good enough for Buddy Holly good enough for me, LOL. Trev looks like a Jap fighter pilot – Kamakaze lead guitarist – explains a lot. Colin – now promoted to contact lenses – kept tripping over the white stick!

Budgie – Battle Memorial Hall 2005

supplied by Andy Baldock.

Budgie Battle001

supplied by Eric Cawthraw

Andy Baldock….came across this earlier today. Not as old as most of the stuff that appears on here, but its the best I can do

Andy Gunton….I was there too & wrote a review of the gig for the Hastings Observer.

Michael Mepham….I was there yayyyy! Burke Shelley broke 2 bass strings but didn’t have a spare. Fun though wasn’t it!  Great live band.

Bernard Jeffery….it was bloody loud lol

Andy Qunta….Great to hear Budgie kept on rockin’!

Eric Cawthraw… Having just posted the Budgie ticket reminds me of what John Lydon is reputed to have said about their gig on the Pier with Budgie, it went something like: ” Budgie were crap and we were even worse!” That is damn clever in its way. Still, respect to Mr. L, like me he is a fan of Third World War, as is Pete Townsend.
