With the beach concert due at the end of July (30th & 31st July 2016 on The Stade) time to revisit previous years with many great memories in the photos from the late Eddie Hazell. The photos (many we have not seen before) will start appearing on the SMART site soon. As before not sure on some of the names, please feel free to fill in the gaps or advise on any errors.
One Inch Badge announces:-
*LOCAL BANDS & MUSICIANS CONTEST*
The chance to play with Happy Mondays & The Levellers 17 & 18 Sep 2016 at Hastings Pier
CAST YOUR VOTES HERE: http://oneinchbadge.com/hastings-band-vote.php
This is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring musicians to be involved in the enrichment of the local music scene, and to leave their footprint on the vibrant musical history of Hastings.
Local artists can be voted for by the residents of Hastings themselves – off course, anyone not local to Hastings is welcome to cast a vote if they’re a fan of any budding Hastings talent!
To submit an act, anyone can put their chosen artist forward. The bands with the highest number of submissions for entry will be our winners (there will be a winner for each day)! And though we do know there is huge talent across the country, this call is only for artists local to Hastings, so artists from outside of Hastings will be disregarded – this is a real community event aimed at supporting local talent.
For any enquiries or troubleshooting when casting a vote, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org who will be happy to assist.
*LOCAL BAND CONTEST – CURRENT TOP 5 IN THE RANKS!!*

Pete Fairless… Will this sell any more tickets?
Phil Gill… Is there somewhere you can keep track of the scores? Can’t seem to find anything on the site…
Pete Fairless… No, I don’t think so, Phil. It appears to be One Inch Badge’s count of the emails they’ve received.
Alan Esdaile… It would be interesting to know who is in the top 20 so far.
supplied by Pete Prescott
Johnny Winter – Rock And Roll Hoochie Koo, Ballin’ Jack – Found A Child, Janis Joplin – Move Over, Santana – Se A Cabo, Argent – Cast Your Spell Uranus, Big Brother and The Holding Company – Mr Natural, Dreams – New York City, Soft Machine – Teeth, Poco – A Man Like Me, Tom Rush – Merrimac County, The Byrds – Lover Of The Bayou, Mick Softley – Waterfall, Trees – Fool, Spirit – Morning Will Come, Laura Nyro – Beads Of Sweat, Chamber Brothers – Going To The Mill.
Alan Pepper… Now out of all the samplers from the 70’s – that one I don’t remember ! When I was 14 at the Grove my best buddy Jumbo played me Bumpers which turned me onto Rock while I played him Tighten up volume two and we enjoyed reggae music. !!! Happy Daze ….
Pete Prescott… My brother Steve had the best of Tamla Motown volume 2. We all loved that.
Neil Steadman… I’ve got this on blue vinyl! Had my copy for 45 years. Still plays beautifully. Also have Bombers. The Polydor double sampler.
