Colin Fox… I don’t think I can answer this question. I like so many different styles of guitar orientated music, from old and newer blues, rock, jazz, funk, classical, flamenco etc.
Ernest Ballard… Jeff Beck
Steve Reents… Frank Zappa, Buckethead, Stevie Ray, Jimmy Page
Mick Knights… Bert Weadon, without whom we wouldn’t have had the vast majority of 60’s guitarists
Clifford Rose… Mick Ronson
Doug Prentice… Ry Cooder, Billy Gibbons
Mark Randall… Mine is Foz? from David Devant & his Spirit Wife – seriously
Chris Meachen… Paul Kossoff, Alan Murphy, Guthrie Govan….
Samuel Freeman… Jimmy Hendrix
Peter J Brazier… Anyone who can play one cos I Can’t lol
Patrick Lewis… I’m no musician so perhaps should not comment but my pick would be Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead
Dave Nattress… Well what a question! Maybe for me, Paul Kossoff – and Paul, may you rest in peace. Such wonderful unique guitar sounds and in early days – well most of his recordings in fact, THE Les Paul. So many Free compositions with so much space around the chords. Second, Pete Townsend – the total guitar violence within Won’t get Fooled Again, and I don’t mean smashing up the guitars. Tony Iommi and how could one leave out Jimi Hendrix. Many more but this will do me for now.
Jan Warren… Yeah, Paul Kossoff and, of course Jimi Hendrix!
Bob Blackham… Ritchie Blackmore.
Richard J Porter… Duane Eddy.
Martyn Baker… Pretty obvious really. Bobby Womack.
Aileen Mathieson… I loved the shadows lol! They swayed with the music they played!
Tony Qunta… Hank Marvin, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Jan Akkerman, Allan Holdsworth, Frank Gambale, Joe Satriani, Django Reinhardt
Phil Thornton… Great list – I don’t know frank gambale – but my list would include Zappa !!!
Flanko Fin Barr… depends on the mood im in
Andy Qunta… So many brilliant ones, but Jimi Hendrix gets my vote!
Paul Morfey… Eric Roche!!
Jennie Tocock… Rory Gallagher, George Harrison, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Frank Zappa!
Michael Wilson… Stevie Ray Vaughan, Brian James, Rory Gallagher.
Mark Randall… The ex-Mrs R always maintained that Bert Weedon was a better guitarist than Segovia as Bert never had to look at the strings as he played.
David Miller… Ollie Halsall
John Coleman… Jimi Hendrix! Stevie ray Vaughan!
Patrick Lewis… What about the folkies, if you can call them that- Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Richard Thompson, John Martyn.
Jim Breeds… Martin Carthy …
Mick Burt… So many amazing players so many different styles but one of my favourites has to be Dave Wood
Graham How… Stevie Ray
Trevor Spears… Jeff Beck and Larry Carlton!
Teresa Qunta… Brian May.
Eric Harmer… Quick Draw Magraw as El Kabong. Check it out if you can’t remember it 😳
David Miller… El Kabong taught Pete Townsend (another guitarist who gets one of my votes) everything he new…
Nigel Polley… For the feel of the guitar and making it sing David Gilmour and for shear style and control nuno Bettencourt
Chris Sambrook… Jeff Beck . Rory Gallagher & Jan Ackerman
Lauren Gower… Richie Blackmore, but I do like Captain Sensible and think he’s underrated
Will Cornell… Richard Thompson
Shane Wright… Jimmy page or Billy Gibbons..
Garry Wonfor… So many great players in so many different ways…. but Tommy Emmanuel really fascinates me! An amazing acoustic player in my opinion.
Pete Shoesmith… Gary moore, midge ure, marc bolan. Prince joe walsh phil (from expandis) david miller
David Miller… Zal Cleminson of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band
Chris Meachen… Albert Lee, Sonny Landreth…
