Paul Tanner, Steve Simpson, Val, Mark Little, Chris Sambrook.

Mick Mepham….Excellent!!! Paul was with me in Mars in ’86 and I think I played with Mark too but can’t remember when exactly, it might have been more like ’87 ish. I don’t believe I ever had the pleasure of playing with Chris….

Gary Kinch…..Top Bloke is Chris, haven’t seen him for a while

Chris Sambrook…The band were influenced by Rush around time of Moving Picture or beyond. Why i was wearing a Fireman’s helmet and blowing a “Duck call” is beyond me.

Mick Mepham…It’s a good look though Chris …….

Stevie Simpson… Saw Chris for the first time in 30 something years last night over at The Carlisle in Hastings, hardly changed

Terry Hardwick… Those H H speakers they weighed a ton

Clancy – Hastings Pier 7th May 1976.

Martyn Baker… Still got the album that I bought after the gig. Tres funky! Featuring Colin Bass on er ……. bass! Also………. Remember Bo Derek? She’s his sister!

Alan Esdaile… Never knew that Martyn. Mention Bo Derek and all I think about is Arthur! I know Colin Bass was in Camel.

Chris Meachen… Seventh Heaven are a band that intrigue me;- they were early exponents of jazz funk, a genre I wasn’t ready for at the time. I do know that they came from the Isle of Wight, & have often wondered if there was a Level 42 connection… Does anyone know any background?

Brotherhood Of Man – White Rock Pavilion – 6th May 1979

Matt Thomas… I was there lol

Mark Mackenzie… We saw them at The Congress in Eastbourne and i am ashamed to say i fell asleep and started snoring, we were near the front row and after a kick in the shin from the wife i woke up and the blonde girl in the band was glaring at me……don’t blame her……

Matt Thomas… Was around the same time I saw Darts at The Congress

Nick Prince… I actually saw them at that concert. They were basically everything you would expect them to be. Middle of the road stuff that sounded almost like their records. I’ll leave it there I think. It hasn’t been that many years that I would admit seeing stuff like that.

Matt Thomas… It was years later when I was working behind the bar at White Rock that I noticed a signed picture of them on the wall in the bar along with other famous acts Roger de.Coucey and Anita Harris, wonder what happened to those pictures, they seemed to vanish without trace lol

Nick Prince… Lol. Now I wonder what happened to those. I remember the Anita Harris pic being there. Not forgetting that Brother Hood of Man beat Frank Ifield in the 1976 Song For Britain.
Now I wonder what would have happened if he represented us? I say 12 off Switzerland and some token points from Ireland and Malta . Or am I being unfair? Somehow i don’t think he would have won

Andre Palfrey-martin collection

Andre Martin…..here we are from the Summer of 78 –

Yvonne Cleland…….Good grief. Never seen it in daylight!

Chris Meachen…..When I worked at Arbuthnot house, I was on the social club committee, & we hired the place for an evening ‘do’. I was late to the party, as I’d been to see Billy Connoly at the White Rock beforehand. Shortly after I arrived, there was a kerfuffle at the door, so I went to investigate, only to find the bouncers denying said Billy entry, as it was a private function. “I’m on the committee,- of course he can come in”.. Thus ensued one of the most hilarious evenings of my life, & all my co-workers belief that he was a personal friend of mine……

Joe Knight……Carl I think was the longest one there!

Carl Ridley…..Nearly 18 years Joe 🙂

Wendy Weaver… Spent a lot of time in Rennies especially on Thursday nights when the Snoooker crowd used to congregate there in the early 80s. I was the Penguin team Craptain for years (that is what the oteam called me) . Had a great mate called Andy Matt I used to go to Rennies with after long snooker sessions upstairs.
