An explosion of colour, music and fun for all the family, The Umbrella Parade is a firm Hastings Fat Tuesday favourite, and all you need to take part is a decorated umbrella. The parade route is from The Stade to St Mary in the Castle and features a host of second line brass bands adding a New Orleans flavour, including the Brass Funkeys, Mariachi Las Adelitas, Sambalanca, Dende along with the irrepressible Dr Savage.With dancers and musicians galore, join in the fun! The culmination of the Umbrella Parade brings festival-goers together at St Mary in the Castle to enjoy food and drink and great music, as the rivalry of the four second line brass bands comes to a head in a dramatic play-off. Featuring the Brass Funkeys with their New Orleans jazzy vibe and of course the irrepressible Dr Savage and the 2nd Line Band, Sambalanco, Dende and the Mariachi Las Adelitas. This is a family friendly event.
