Paul Dengate…. I’ve checked through my diaries and I reckon this was taken at the Steppin’ Out “party night” at the Archery, Eastbourne, 24th December 1977. Used to do the sound for the band, but this was probably a special party-piece. L-R: Wesley Magoogan, Ray Fenwick, Paul Dengate, Martyn Baker, Roger Hubbard. Drummer is possibly Andy Knight.or Kevin Hoad.

Martyn Baker… Yeah, nice pair of lionels Wesley but I think if there was a biscuit around then Paul would have taken it.

Dave Nattress… Samisen played the Archery Tavern once when I was with them – mid-week I think and If I remember correctly it was one of those gigs where the unappreciative audience had just about made double figures.
Geoff Peckham… in the main photo, The drummer? I reckon, by the jutting elbow, it’s Andy Knight. Am I right?

Yvonne Cleland… I thought that was bonkers, but looking at that elbow – I know exactly what you mean!
Martyn Baker… It was definitely Kevin Hoad with us by then.
Ernest Ballard… Archery in Eastbourne. Archery shut down years ago. I remember seeing Jason Bonham there in his band Bonham
Pete Prescott… That would have been Kevin. Me and Titch were on that gig. We did Christmas songs and Smoke on the Water for the first time. Great band, Roger Hubbard wrote some wonderfully songs by himself and with Titch. I moved down to Hastings from north Kent that day. The band split up on new years eve.
Ernest Ballard… Happy days not splitting up lol on New Years Eve
Jackie Clarke… Loved The Archery. Good music venue.
Tim Moose Bruce… Great venue for Eastbourne. Saw Dr Feelgood there, Wilko with Norman Watt Roy and another memorable gig was Dumpy’s Rusty Nuts. Played there myself with the Blind Bats a couple of times. Now gone and a hideous Co op store there in its place.
Barry French… I played at the Archery with 1st Emotion in the early 70’s. The area where the band played was then called the Dilly Dally Bar. All the staff were dressed like Victorian waiters. The Victorian theme was carried carried on through the bar with Velvet upholstery on the Chairs & Velvet curtains. All very posh.
Terry Pack… I wasn’t there, but the drums look suspiciously like that stainless steel kit that Kevin had for a while.
Pete Prescott… If it was Dec 77 I was singing in the band. I was in it from Sep till they split in new years eve (7 days after I moved to Hastings to join them !) We played some Christmas songs and an impromptu smoke on the water. It was a great band that needn’t have split. But that’s what bands do best !
Martyn Baker… I was there. With Kevin Hoad, on drums. No question.
Bernard Goffredo… how come the drummer is never in the picture
Conan (Len Howard) … Wesley Magoogan had the biggest flairs in the UK ,, I think they were in the Guinness book of records at that time.
