Inspired Village… Before minced meat was a supermarket staple, who remembers it being made at home with a trip to the butchers and one of these?
Steve Thorpe… I had one in the eighties.
Mike Waghorne… I often remember having to use one helping my mother in the kitchen when I was around 4 or 5
Stuart Moir… My mum had one of those, I used to put mud in it
Judy Atkinson… I still have one of these. Used to mince the leftover cold beef or lamb with onion & carrot for cottage/shepherd’s pie
Pat Fears… yes, me too.
Keith Rodway… Still use one
David Edmunds… You could buy mince from the butcher these were used mainly for mincing Sunday roast meat to make rissoles or shepherds pie
Paul Slidel… Yes, I remember them well. Usually used for leftover roast meats to make shepherds pie yum
Martin Stoggell… Still got one I think.
Tony Court-holmes… my nan had one
Glenn Piper… Oh yes

Jacquie Hinves… I have one of those mincers in my cupboard. It was granny’s.
Janet Brophy… My Mum & Dad Had One Of These
Dave Nattress… Yes, my Mother had one of these when I was very young exactly the same as this. Funny enough for the first time for ages tonite’s tucker is home made shepherds pie, good home cooking from the Chief Chef on a rotten windy rainy October night. Meat already minced these days.
That’s the end of the good news, bad is the dog still has to go out – not that she minds the rain!
Judy Atkinson… Alan, buying ready minced meat is not the same as mincing your own cooked meat. Also you need to mince the carrots & onions to go with it
Ray Binning… We still have one. It’s still used occasionally.
Alan Vale… years ago got one at a car boot £0.50 I think long gone now
Rick Startin… Yep, I’ve still got the one we had when I was a kid
