Rose Watling… I had the pleasure of meeting Fred some years ago when I worked for the Eastbourne Herald. I was making a video of the Eastbourne Business Awards and he was the guest presenter. What a lovely guy, great sense of humour, very professional in his demeanour – a real gentleman. I did an interview with him as part of the video and he answered all my questions and put me at ease. I was a bit in awe – as like for many of us – he’s been part of my life – on the telly since forever! Sad to see him leave, and wish him all the best.
