Knights Amusements Bexhill

Alan Esdaile… I remember playing the pinball tables here.

Robert Carey… Spent a bit of my youth in Aggies ( Mrs Knight). Used to call the Teddy Boys who gathered around the juke box Sir!

Peter Houghton… I spent most of my time there and then went over to The Cont or Forts

Jeff Belton… Still there ? A smaller scale I think, have been in there.

Wendy Weaver… We used to spend hours on the pinballs in here. The owner showed us photographs of lines of pinballs with girls with 50s dresses on.

Stephen Milner… The good old days wasting ya money

Dave Cook… Stephen, remember the lower deck who was the old boy who worked there fixing the machines was his name Jim

Stephen Milner… Dave, or was it Tony?

Dave Cook… that’s it

Mike Waghorne… Dave, it was Tony the guy who fixed things back in the 60’s !

Dave Ingram… All closed down now, should get it reopen as a community space with machines

Tony Court-holmes… what was the name of the night club that was there?

Dave Nattress… Knew it well and a great hang out. Recall the gaffer well and indeed Tony. Also when they opened the lower deck. Summertime outside on the steps playing guitars. Seemed like you could spend hours there without actually spending much – can’t remember how much the pinball machines were? Useful when you got a bit more skilful you’d get free games. Had to be careful not to “tilt” machines as I think it ended the game.  Fortes and the Cont. Wimpey in Devonshire Road and The Arcadian club for a late hours drink when we got a bit older.
