Bell Musical Instruments catalogue. Who remembers getting this?

Iain Cobby… As a lad, I would drool for hours over the Watkins Rapier guitars. I did however, talk my dad into buying me a Selmer Treble & Bass 50 watt from their shop in Brighton!

Mike Waghorne… used to send off for their catalogues in the 60’s !

Colin Norton… Used to go to the shop in Portland Road, Hove.

Michael Gibbs… I spent hours and hours drooling over the guitars and amps in these catalogues

Tony Parsons… So did I Colin back in the very early sixties, i brought my first electric guitar a Burns from them, later trading it in for a Strat 62 pre cbs wish I still had it

Colin Norton… Tony, I remember drooling over a Sunburst Strat in the window of Bells. Yes, I’m sure that you wish that you still had yours!

Mark Randall… I still have mine from 76.

Andrew Gordon… Iain, I must have had the 74/75 catalogue and there was a guitar with 4 pick-ups. Boy did I want It!
I finished up buying (mail order) a 30 watt combo amp, I forget the make

Mark Randall… Who made the plexiglas guitar that was in there?

Phil Gill… Mark, Dan Armstrong?

Iain Cobby… It was Dan Armstrong that produced the Plexiglass Guitar and Bass as used by Keith Richards. When Kent Armstrong his son was based in Shadoxhurst up the road from me , I took my Manson bass up for a setup. To my surprise Dan was over from the states visiting. What a lovely guy, built like Grizzly Adams! both he and his son setup the bass and showed me some of his previous guitar designs
