Edward Hall R.I.P.
Val Matthews… my brother, Edward-Ted-Hall worked the machines at Fracmo with Bruce Cameron, circa 1980s. I wondered if Ted might be remembered by anyone. He was unmistakable as he had a curved back, his neck was bending his chin into his chest. He was also an irony, independent person and would mention little “fixes” to run a job more quickly. Ted finally gave up his battle with death on Feb 2nd. He was 72 and had defied predictions for over 60 years. Thank you for reading this and if there is a memory I could have, I would be so happy to include it. With kind regards.
Funeral arrangements… Tuesday, March 14th 2023 at Hastings Crematorium at 1.15pm.
A dedicated email has been set up for contact with Val at peanuts4150@yahoo.com to send thoughts, memories and anything else that his friends are happy to share and to confirm wishes to attend the celebration please.

ABC Acoustic Blues Club with Kelvin Davies & Gary Jones – The Jenny Lind 13th March 2023
‘Kelvin Davies already has an amazing portfolio of work behind him including several plays on the BBC Radio 2 Cerys Matthews Blues Show. The great guitar work and singing of this young country blues artist brings songs of the 20’s and 30’s to life, as well as an increasing selection of wonderful self penned numbers. Kelvin draws his inspiration deep from the past, from blues pioneers such as Mississippi John Hurt, Charley Patton, Blind Blake, Reverend Gary Davis and more, as well as being inspired from later folk musicians, the likes of John Martyn, Jackson C Frank and Bob Dylan. Since the start of his acoustic blues musical quest in late 2017, Kelvin has played at some fantastic venues, such as Ronnie Scott’s jazz club, The 100 club, Cambridge Junction, Dingwalls, as well as Cambridge folk festival, Tenby blues festival and various other folk and blues festivals and clubs throughout the UK. Rarely far from his side is veteran harmonica player Gary Jones, whose soulful, understated presence never fails to add an extra layer of sweetness to Kelvin’s overall wonderful, charismatic sound.’
Here’s an earlier event on the 14th November 2022… Weeping Willow Blues, Blind Boy Fuller cover by Sister Suzie & Mick Knight.
