Chris Sambrook – Marshall winner December 1972

supplied by Pete Fisher

Alan Esdaile… Great find Pete. Very sad that Chris is not around to see it.

Martin Richter… bless him

Pete Fisher… Stumbled across it quite by chance Alan, brought back some very happy memories of crazy days with him back in 71-72…

Colin Winn… Chris joined us (Cracked Mirror) for a while. I was the vocalist from its beginning in Maidstone (1979) after Joe Rytlewski contacted a few peeps in the area. But I dropped away as it became more Hastings based. I liked Chris, the little I knew of him!!

Kevin White… Colin, I followed Chris as their drummer when he broke his leg in the early 80s. I didn’t know him that well either, but he was a nice guy, he let me use his Ludwig Vistalite kit, to save me lugging my kit too and fro the rehearsal space. We had some great times back then.

Elaine Stock… Wow! That’s awesome

Marilyn Spence… Pretty sure this is my girlfriend’s younger brother Chris Sambrook If so when I went to visit in 1973 had a photo with him and the family when visiting. Sadly my girlfriend Barbara told me of his passing some time ago

Cliff Wootton… Sad to hear of Chris passing away. He was an interesting drummer with a really neat and unique, almost verging on comedic drumming technique that featured lots of odd percussion devices and vintage car horns. A good mate sadly missed.

Steve Simpson… Sad to hear of Chris’ passing. Enjoyed my time in Slayve with him. It was lovely to bump into him at a gig at The Carlise in Hastings a few years back.

Wendy Weaver… Chris was a great guy. I worked with him for many years. He was always keen on his music.
