1965

Tony Qunta….I used to love the Fiesta!

John Alexander Wilde….June 5th 1971 John and Pam wedding reception in the coffee bar. Anyone still alive that remembers this?

Pete Fisher….spent so many hours here hanging out as a teenager…sitting outside on the pavement in the summer…

Stephen Fletcher….Good memories .spent most of my teenage years there.

Andy Qunta…. remember the tea came in a glass that sat in a kind of silver/metal glass holder with a handle.Tea bag still in it, & a long spoon. Good hamburgers too! Chicago – 25 or 6 to 4 – on the juke box, as well as many more great classics!

Gary Kinch……….And tomato ketchup that came in plastic tomatoes. Unscrew the green top, quickly turn the tomato upside down, place green top on the upturned bottom, then leave……….we were really rock and roll

Geoff Peckham….Yes, I would have been with you, Andy. Bridge Over Troubled Water was the soundtrack on the jukebox. Perhaps we discussed forming a band in the Fiesta?

Bernard Jeffery…Big part of my youth, great coffee, used to get a baguette and fill it with chips and loads of ketchup, so healthy. always good music on the jukebox.

Paul Sleet….who remembers Min riding into the fiesta on his bike?

Terry Huggins….I got barred from this place on a regular basis.

Andre Martin…..Does anybody remember the guy – I think his name was Joe, who used to be on the door, downstairs on the corridor up to the club on the top floor, he used to be on ” duty” Friday and Saturday nights till the early hours of the morning, I knew him also from the college where he was a student doing A levels – often wondered what happened to him – nice guy.

Gary Kinch… My Father also worked at the Fiesta as a doorman in the 60’s. He knew Terry (co owner with Tony who also jointly owned T&T Candies) through Judo.

Yvonne Cleland… Buhlimey, John. I was still at school when you and Pam were getting married!

Phil Gill… To be fair Yvonne, so were they.

Yvonne Cleland… Roar! Hahahahahahahaha 🙂

Lucy Pappas… Loved the fiesta! Felt so grown up drinking coffee from the glasses with metal holders !

Alan Esdaile… Agree Lucy. That one coffee used to last a few hours.

Lynn Graham… Anyone remember Richard Masters who sat at the top of the stairs doling out tickets at the Continental in Robertson Street?

Jeanette Jones…My happy place, worked there for over two years, helped to keep me at school past my 16th birthday. I used to eat my salads up in the penthouse in splendid isolation. Tony & Terry still owned it when I was there, still had T&T Candies. Nice people. Ellen mothered me but I was still obliged to make the beefburgers even though I was a vegetarian! Didn’t mind filling up the tomato sauce thingies & Yes John do remember The Wedding 🙂

Tony Court-holmes… penthouse club up above. Just seeing all these names is a blast from the past.

Thomas Wagner… Anybody remember Martin Fisher ? Great memories from 1968-72 of Mrs Fiesta coffee bar.

Monica Bane… Yes my father use to go abroad on Martin Fisher ship, but it belonged to his brother Peter Fisher in the 70’s, around then Martin always chew on a Match stick. My daughter Debbie stayed at his George Street house with her friend. Around about the eighties.

John Busbridge… Upstairs coffee bar, Barry Herbert behind the bar, pyrex coffee cups and plates.

Stuart Moir… One of the first visits when I moved to Hastings

Iain Cobby… I remember Martin Fisher. His brother Peter and my father were in business together. I believe Martin had a tiny Lotus 7 and a dog called Bruno that went everywhere with him. Always accompanied by the most beautiful of girls he once was in a shipwreck somewhere off the coast of Cornwall and I think he saved a crew members live. really nice chap. I bought my then to be wife Lesley a burger as an opening gambit in there. Happy days with Ride a White Swan on the Jukebox.

Gino Francesco… Good memories. Martin had a Triumph Spitfire car. He was a radio officer on a ship in 1963 that caught fire in the south atlantic and was saved by a passing ship. He developed Hodkins disease from which he never survived. Loved by all.
