Tony Ham….Conflict also played that night.  It was a brilliant night, I’ll never forget it.

Mark Richards… & yeah i bet it was!!

Tony Ham… I like that Conflict were obviously added after the tickets were made and someone has just written them in on this one, they weren’t mentioned on mine. Not a bad line up for £1. Thirty five years ago today, I feel old

Kev Towner… Can’t remember why I wasn’t in Hastings for this. Possibly at Uni. I’ll never live down missing this.

Martin Richter… I remember it well ;-

Lauren Gower… Still got my ticket

Alan Esdaile… Used to sell loads of Crass records. I think we got our stock from Rough Trade. We were part of The Chain With No Name and submitted sales figures for the indie chart. Mind you margins were poor for us, the records had pay no more than… printed on the sleeve. Some were around 76p retail if I remember and probably trade price was around 70p.

Tony Ham… To me mainly!  I’ve still got all my records, price and code stickers still on them too.

Martin Richter… we used to get ours from “rough trade” – buy the NME on a Thursday – look at their advert – send off a letter and cheque and they arrived on Saturday morning

Claire Venner… Yep, me and my mates were there.

Sheida Kamkar… Oh yes was there with Claire Venner

Tony Ham… I’ve got it on CD

Tim Kerrell…I was there luv the CRASS

Martin Richter…  I was lucky enough to see them twice 🙂 Xtra! was a great anarchist rag – the paper for the armchair anarchist and F@CK was good fun too – those were the days

Matt Taylor… My first gig ! I was 12 !

John Moore… I took that photo for this gig, I took my trusty Kodak cartridge camera to many a punk gig, I don’t remember much about it, didn’t remember Conflict playing at all? I have lots of old Crass photos I haven’t put on the internet, great to see them on pages like this completing a story of great days out, we hired a mini bus from Rainham. Steve had the white tape over his nose for punk is dead as a swipe at Adam Ant, he first did this at the 100 club gig, I have pics but never released those

Tony Ham… I remember Steve doing the Adam Ant thing. Saw Steve in Brighton last night doing Crass songs, first time I’ve seen him since the Hastings pier show 41 years ago!

John Moore… Tony, my friends and I went to the 100 club to see Steve on 07/04/22 , last Thursday in fact, was ok, the social side these day, few beers etc etc ,we have all changed so much, I remember the songs Steve did but Crass delivered a full assault on the senses with the banners, TV’s and films, and Eve’s voice live back then was cutting, they were quite menacing on stage, intimidating at times.

Phil Pain… I remember it kicking off with fash skinheads, Conflict doing an anti-nazi version of Belsen was a Gas and Poison Girls winding them up with Bully Boys! Fuckin brilliant night.

Hazel O Connor – D Days 1981

Gary Kinch…..Nice shot of all the ‘astins lads @1.19……….Took our Mum to see them at the Dome in 198?. Mum looked nice with her knitted cardi and Handbag, dead punk she was. Asked Mum what she thought half way through, she couldn’t hear me because she had cotton wool stuffed in her ears.

Chris Baker….I only knew of Del from Hastings. Which others were from there then?

Alan Esdaile….Chris, as well as Wesley, you should know Steve Kinch & Andy Qunta

Chris Baker….Blimey! I never knew the were in the band too. One of those things that passed me by. Nice to know

Andy Qunta….Those were the D Days!

Steve Kinch….Yeah… not even slightly overdoing it LOL! Looking at that vid again makes me think, that’s probably when I first did my back… it’s never been the same since

Tony Qunta….You certainly were giving it some, Steve! I look very laid back in comparison!

Pete Fisher…..saw you guys at Norwich University, must have been around this time, with Duran Duran supporting (they were awful)….got to say hi to Andy, had no idea Steve was on bass…..great clip!

Mick O’Dowd….Hazel was an very underated singer/performer. I think she was overshadowed by Toyah.

Peter James Shaw….There’s that Revox! Still love ’em….oh, and tbe two Andy’s!

Steve Kinch…I’ve just spent 30 minutes looking at that photo and recollecting some of the times spent in that house – most notably and sadly, rehearsing with dear Mark Thirsk. 2 Andys looking cool .Fabulous photo!

Andy Qunta….Yes, Steve! You & Mark & Tone & I spent a lot of good times there, & created some the best music I’ve ever been part of! Lots of other very talented & fun people visited up there too! Very surprised & pleased that so many of them remember it all so well, & so fondly! Cheers to all!

Andy Caine.…Great photo! What year was that Andy?

Andy Qunta….I think it was ’81 or maybe ’82. 2 Andys looking good! Cheers, mate!

Bob Cockburn….I met Andy Caine once, I was in a bar in Soho Square where I worked for 20th C. Fox…got talking and he went next door & came back & gave me his album……still got it. Nice guy.
