Elvis All Day Spectacular in aid of Jake’s Splash Of Delight – Sun 18th Jan 2015

Kevin Burchett…. Organised by my friend Becky Davis should be great day with 4 award winning Elvis impersonators

Phil Gill… Uh-huh.

Kevin Burchett… The Elvis All Day Spectacular show held on 18th January was a huge success! It raised £1,739.12 for “Jakes Splash of Delight” . David, Christine, Elanor and the team at the Azur Marina Pavillion transformed their Sun Room (how appropriate, seeing as Elvis first recorded at Sun Studios in Memphis!) into a Vegas-style lounge, complete with Elvis menus. Our fantastic 4 Elvis Tribute Artists, Dean Mack, Gordon Davis, Juan Lozano and Mike Nova, all muti award winners both here and internationally, took to the stage and were joined by 3 more, Chris Tierny, Aren Emir and Rob Willis, to make a total of 7! Coincidentally, Elvis held 7 as the luckiest number, which it certainly was for those in the audience! These guys all delivered the vocals and moves during sets entitled, “Gospel”, “Movies and “Through the Years” in fitting tribute to The King himself. Close your eyes (no offence guys!) and you were transported back in time! Ever the natural entertainer, Jake was soon up on stage, singing “Don’t Be Cruel” with Juan to rapturous applause, the moment being captured on film by Kevin Burchett who, like so many others, gave his expertise for free. In between sets, there was a chance for members of the audience to sing in the “Hastings Does Elvis” competition and enter one of Janet Inglis’s raffles with generous prizes, donated by local and national businesses.

Your compere for the day was Mr. Peter Phillips, organiser of the world-reknowned Porthcawl Elvis Festival which saw 30,000 visitors last year. Please see for yourself at www.elvies.co.uk

We have now raised £7,830 of the £26,000 needed for Jake’s hydrotherapy pool and the fundraising baton has been taken up by Hastings Round Table 21 who, having already pledged £1000, are holding their 85th Charter Night on 27th February at Bannatynes Hotel in aid of Jake’s appeal. So if you would like a ticket to this black tie dinner with fine cuisine and live entertainment, please click here; https://www.facebook.com/events/409153945899399/?ref_dashboard_filter=upcoming

We would like to thank Hastings Round Table for all their support, they really are knights in shining armour! They will be wearing Jake’s Splash Of Delight logo t-shirts on Hastings’ half marathon day 22 March 2015.
Please support them and if you would also like to run the half marathon for Jake, please get in contact. Also another date for your diary is Friday 5th June 2015 – Rockabilly Night, starring the very talented Jacen Bruce & his band, the Memphis Underground + DJ’s 2 Houndogs.
Watch this space, venue to be announced soon! Anyone wishing to help fundraise for Jake, please get in touch.

Terry Johns… I like Pete, he is a very skilled carpenter and cabinet maker as well as being a great doorman who worked all over the south of the UK, he had the ability of stepping into some very hostile situations and defusing them without the need for any violence in short one of the best doormen I have worked with .
