wrong date on this one!

Virginia Davis… I saw the film and have the clear vinyl album. Can’t believe it was 1980 though

Wendy Weaver… McVicar was mainly fiction as was his book. I loved Fame. It was great. I think Car Wash was on with it, I fell asleep in that.

Andy Qunta… Never mind Monterey Pop & Cream, what about Percy!

Colin Norton… Yes, I agree with Andy! What about Percy? Great fun, Kinks soundtrack!

Natasha Kaschevsky… Was just watching Monterey last Sunday!

Phil Gill… A 15 year old Roger Carey and a 14 year old me were there at the 7:30 showing, eyes wide open and completely mesmerised. We knew even then what we wanted to do in life.

Jan Warren… Love Jimi, Love Cream too!!…  but do you really want my opinion on PERCY?? – haha

Chris Meachen… I was there, probably with Roger Sleet…

Ralph Town… Anyone under 40 won,t know what Percy was about lol.

Alan King… Little known fact : – Beverley Martyn played the Monterey Pop Festival and was (sadly) booed off (I think the same applied to Judy Sill as well – though memory fading a bit on this one)

Tony Court-holmes… remember seeing all of those

Penguin Cinema Hastings 4th September 1974

Chris Baker… Where was that? (and don’t say opposite the Car Park!)

Keith Blizard… Well it was Chris…lol

Alan Esdaile… The Snooker Club, Priory Street, Chris.

Tony Court-holmes… and the small one next door

Wendy Weaver… The one next door we called ‘Alf’s. Oh how i miss the Penguin, it used to be my second home (or maybe my first)

Who remembers The De Luxe Cinema Hastings?

cuttings 1965

Alan Esdaile… Always remember it was cheapest to go to the very top of the building.

Keith Veness… So high up there

Sid Saunders…  I remember that there were wooden benches behind the top seats that we were not allowed to sit in.

Dave Nattress… The advert says it was on the seafront so whereabouts? I recall the other cinemas in Hastings and the Tivoli (was it) – the one in Norman Road, St Leonards but not one on the front. Or was it where the large amusements place has been for years along from Pelham Crescent?

Alan Esdaile… Yes the large amusement place which has a bingo club above.

Tony Court-holmes… saw rob roy there 4 times one week up in the gods. Remember Roxy silverhill, Curzon norman road and the flea pit now Yates god i feel old

Trevor Unwin… The flea pit was the Orion and yes we are old
