John Storer… Aah! …. those halcyon days of crimpolene flares! 🙂
Peter Millington… We didn’t reform, we just added Rod Trowell to our line-up and changed our name from SPYKE to JINKS. That change happened after 28th May 1975 and before our return to Scalliwags on 11th July that same year. Thanks for posting Kevin – my “style cred” has just hit the buffers!
Peter Gladwish… Just noticed my band, ‘Vogue’ were on this advert. We were regulars at Scallywags for quite a while.
Pete Prescott… I still have the Jinks album on cassette (light blue cover )

Jan Warren… I used to go there, I think it was downstairs at The Regent Hotel, St Leonards?! – good times, good memories!! 🙂 I have so many memories of The Regent, it started off with my hubby being a “handyman” and me a “chambermaid” at the Regent, then he was given the weekend DJ slot, that must of been the early seventies, I remember a glam-rock band called “Rubber Band” (I think) – the singer was very “David Bowie-like and they released a single (45rpm) called “Moonwalker”?!! , and lots of other bands that were mentioned the other day?!! ……….. and then it became SCALLIWAGS!!

Kevin Burchett… SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT. Due to the popularity of the SCALLIWAGS REUNION event we have had to change to a bigger venue.THE MASONIC HALL in st leonards WHICH holds over 3oo people. so SCALLIWAGS is coming back to st leonards. the other benefits are Ann Buckland and Madeline Joyce Morton are going to do the buffet which will save us a lot of money giving the lifeboat more in donations. the DJs have said they will still do it for free. thanks to them Masonic Hall have kindly given us the hall for free. thanks to Masonic Hall for that.im sorry that we had to let down Richard Lavender and the angling club down but the main thing is to make as much money for the lifeboat as possible. so i hope everyone that has said they will come will still do so its still £7. 50p a ticket. Ann Buckland has her own catering business and Madeline Joyce Morton has many years experience in the hotel trade . so both are well up to the job in hand. thanks kevin and maddy. your thoughts and comments are most welcome under this thanks again
Sarah Crunden… Quite a few of us are really interested in coming to the Scalliwags reunion. Can you tell us how we get tickets? Many thanks. Look forward to hearing from you.
Alan Esdaile… If you live local tickets are available from: Seconds Away, 38 King Road, St Leonards-On-Sea, East Sussex. TN37 6DX Tel: 01424 447454. I will pass on your email to Kevin Burchett, who is organising the event and he maybe able to help with other options.
Kevin Burchett… Tickets are going fast for the reunion now anyone in the lists who hasnt got tickets seriously needs to think about getting them because if we carry on like this it will be by ticket only on the night out of a total of 300 tickets we only have 106 left it will be no good leaving it to the night . Thanks Kevin and Maddy, we would hate to see anyone who wants to go disappointed.
A few photos I took on the day… (1) No Exit, (2) Mania, (3) Iain Cobby, (4) Benjamin Davies, (5) Louise Dooris and Kate Ashton, (6) Mick Bolton and Friends, (7) Phil Little, (8) Mick Bolton, (9) The Dan Large Band, (10) Harry Mousley, (11) AutistiX, (12) Simon Shaw, (13) Pass The Cat.
Jon McCallion… Missed Paul Dove by 10 mins, Phil Gills band was tops as normal Pete Prescott done a good job for the sixteenth time, Liane Carroll with hubs also tops, all good, Factrio went on early sad we didn’t see them. We enjoyed all that we saw.
Alan Esdaile… Early Part of the Day – Well done to Pete Prescott for another brilliant day and with over £21,000 raised for Macmillan Cancer Support. For the early part of the day, among the acts I saw were ‘No Exit’ opened the show on the main stage with a solid performance as always. Followed by ‘Mania‘ with Iain Cobby. A great renditioning of It Won’t Be Long and with two of the group only being 13 and 15 they worked really well together. ‘Mick Bolton & Friends‘ always a pleasure to hear Mick play and with Phil Little & Barry Jones on board they gave an excellent version of Things We Said Today. ‘Now and Then’ these were the stand out for me, first class acapella quartet, amazing voices. ‘Dan Large Band‘ Dan’s always passionate how he plays and you can tell he loved every minute and so did the audience. ‘Pass The Cat’ first class musicians with a unique sound, had the audience moving to the hypnotic beats. Caught Liane Carroll from a distance sounding amazing as always. Among the youngsters were ‘Harry Mousley’. This guys got lots of potential and really good. Great version of When I’m Sixty Four’. My sister Cheryl said ‘The Sound Waves Community Choir were excellent and Poppy Prescott was very good.
Anyone else got other reviews?
