John Storer…..Sometime in the late 70s, Lewes Crown Court were hearing a trial in relation to an offence that took place in Scalliwags. It was decided that the jury should attend the scene of the alleged crime to view the place. They were accompanied by the Judge and the prosecution and defence legal teams. Before the visit, court officials insisted that all signs and notices that displayed the “Sober Judge” name and / or logo were to be covered up prior to the visit for fear of offending m’lord
