Harry Randall… Used to be known as “Tin Town” I think cos of all the allotment sheds up there
Ian Quinnell… Harry, Tin town because all houses were prefabs with tin roofs
Gary Benn… Ian, not tin roofs, but what are called bisifs. British Iron and Steel Federation houses. When we stopped needing to build warships the factories were turned to ‘good use’.
Roger King… Of course we’re looking at Valleyside Road here. I think those are the Tintown houses we can just see on the left edge of the photo (Fellows Road, Clement Hill Road etc.)
Matt Thomas… I remember Nan taking quite a few photos back in the 80s of different places that were going to be demolished, so got before & after pics
Vic Thwaites… Valleyside Road. I grew up in number 19 (to the right of the one at the top facing directly down the road). Happy childhood memories of playing rounders at the various gateposts round the circle at the top.
