Robert Searle….That’s when Suspect had record out on Decca .It was called Belinda/Mariooka. Loved my short time with Suspect

Stuart Moir….Would be nice to look that young all the time eh!!.. The other guys in the band were Mick Ingram and Graham Putland and of course Dave “beano” Easton .. Many years devoted to the band and all who sailed in her

Paul Kilford… Where they all ” hair models ” at some point ? Just had a barbers flashback.

Andy Qunta… 2 great bands!

Vic Williams… Is that David Walliams in the front ??? Or his exact double don’t you think ???

Stuart Tanner….This is uncanny Peter Shaw, you have not changed at all !!!

Stuart Moir… OMG Beano Easton no less, didn’t you lot look smart he he … The Original Suspects who I joined when Pete’ decided to have a break.

Peter Shaw… John Unwin people, not Rod Sargent !!

originally thought it was Rod Sargent but have updated thanks to Pete Shaw.

Colin Fox… Wasn’t Graham Putland playing with the Suspects at some point?

Peter Shaw… Graham was in “The Lurking Gromwells” but yes Colin, Graham rolled his Ford Thames van (with us in it!) whilst in the Suspects taking out a farmers new fence! Doh!

Andre Martin… Thanks for that info Pete, somebody asked me about the Lurking Gromwells a few weeks back in conjunction I think with the Pier – now you have provided the answer.

Jane Hartley… Suspects van parked down the bottom of my road yesterday!

Robert Searle… Was Suspects when I was a member

Chris Baker… I remember Graham letting me try his Gibson Les Paul at the Round Table. Felt like it hardly had frets at all!

Mick O’Dowd… Deep Purple (Hastings) played with The Suspects and Prohibition at the Polegrove Bexhill for an event called “Rodeo 67” think it might have been 1967.

17th December 1965

Chris Baker… Suspect we’re always having an S added, (or was it taken away?). Confused myself now!

Phil Thornton, Kevin Hoad, Tony Bird and Martin Stringer.

Phil Thornton… Well thanks for digging this out Martin ! (I don’t remember ever seeing this before) didn’t we have a bass player ?

Alan Esdaile… It would be interesting to know the story behind the props.

Tony May… A definite touch of The Bonzo’s by the look of this pic! (lol)

Martin Stringer… Hi Phil, hope all well with you and yours.  Can’t remember a bass player.

Tony Bird… the fifth member of the band was Mick Ingram and the photo was taken at my studio called Wing at Ninfield circa 1980 and the props what part of the studio decoration. Now that’s recycling.

Julian Richards… cannot forget the Abysmal Sisters , great music , lots of humour ! I went back to Bexhill in September 2014 for 3 weeks , live in Perth , Australia , my best mate Richard Crawley took me in to see Tony Bird , he even gave me a copy of the A/sisters on CD , what a great surprise , still sounds bloody good even after such a long time . Great to see Tony is still in business , you bloody Legend !!
regards , Julian Richards ( Formerly of Bexhill )

You can hear Tony talking about The Abysmal Sisters on my recent radio show… https://www.mixcloud.com/alan-esdaile-johnny-mason/johnny-mason-60s-and-70s-show-on-chr-with-special-guest-tony-bird-180719/

Karen Sweatman…. Found these other Suspects photos.  Thought you might be interested. Don’t think I’ve provided them before.

Alan Esdaile… Excellent Karen. Have not seen these before. Anyone confirm the line up was still the same, David Easton, Peter James Shaw, John Unwin, Peter Blackman, Mick Ingram?

Peter Gladwish… Line-up confirmed.

Peter Millington… Well if I didn’t know better I would have put Dave Easton down as a headmaster rather than the “wild man of pop”.

Alan Mitchell… Great picture, two Hofner Veri-thin guitars. I’ve alway’s like them.

Karen Sweatman… Mum still has Dads. Unfortunately, it is not playable anymore. Looked at getting it fixed, but will cost a fortune. It’s still lovely to look at.

Martin Richter… my silvertone looks like the one on the right – nice geetars!

Terry Pack… Is that Mick Ingram on the left?

Karen Sweatman… I believe it is

Terry Pack… Haven’t seen him since the early 1980s. I wonder where he is.

Robert Searle… Photos get better. I bet Dave got all the bookings.

Colin Fox… There’s a little bit of Buddy Holly in Dave. Ooooooh eeeeer miss’s.

Pete Shaw… Dave did exactly that..by BT phone of course! He rode round on his Vespa and often directly into the Sidley rehearsal hall, driving round in circles wearring his hat and a silly grin! I have no idea exactly when and where these photos were taken (I was no doubt high on Tizer…) but as the band met in Bexhill mainly, I would expect there!

Karen Sweatman… The group ones were out Friston/Jevington way Peter I believe. There are a couple of Dad taken at the same time with his number one groupie – my Mum! 🙂

Pete Shaw… Thanks Karen for posting the photos…I had never seen them!
