Dean Clarke… Best group I ever saw at the White Rock was Misty In Roots.
Matt Thomas… I heard how the usherettes didn’t like working the Motörhead gig
Alan Esdaile… Matt, I think it was rather loud!
Wendy Weaver… it was very loud but never the less wonderful.
Teresa Mary Ann Mercer… Would have loved to ushered motorhead
Matt Thomas… Teresa, I think a few had earplugs in
Mark Rymell… I don’t think the Moody Marsden band happened, they played at the Yorkshire Grey instead at very short notice (apparently a double booking), Ringo Star’s son on drums. However I thought it was before 98.
Roger Dando… Was it the real Tull ? Why didn’t I go ? ?
Peter Howard… In the 80s I DJ’d at a College Ball in Durham along with Acker Bilk, The Tremeloes and Paper Lace. Come to think of it, that was the only time in my life I was pulled over by the police, driving home at about 4am through Gateshead
Mark Richards… to this day the loudest gig i’ve ever been to! ..whilst watching the support band i got a tap on the shoulder from a kindly old lady saying i couldn’t smoke in the main theatre! Not quite sure how they thought they could police that when Motorhead were on, everyone was smoking, including Lemmy on stage
Toker Tokin… I was at the Motorhead gig. .jumping about in the front there hugging the speakers. .my ears hissed for 3 or so days and nights
Phil Little… Bernie Marsden played in The Yorkshire Grey in 1991 when Tex was booking the music there. Zak Starkey was on drums.
Colin Bell… I drove past while Motorhead were on & it was loud outside the building! & I’m used to it after all my years in the biz, but I’m glad I didn’t attend to be honest
Roger Dando… Colin, I saw them in Brighton at the dome – oh my god it was loud ! I remember my trouser legs flapping ! ! Kin loud . . Too loud to appreciate really
Martin Richter…lol – that’s great entertainment in a month what changed?
Stewart Rockett… I stood on Lemmy’s foot the evening of that gig. He was very nice about it
Steve Hamilton… Went to Motorhead – i think I saw David Essex a few years previous. It amazes me more that you could buy tickets on the night. I don’t think I ever saw the White Rock full unless it was Lennie Bennett or Chas and Dave.
Johnny Gorillar… Thursday 13th to Friday the 16th!
Kirsty Lou… I actually randomly found a motorhead gig poster from that very gig knocking about.
Alan Esdaile… Well spotted Johnny.
