David Muriel invite card for his 21st birthday party which was held at The Pam Dor in Hastings and the band that performed was The Preachers which featured Peter Frampton and original drummer of The Rolling Stones Tony Chapman.

Nadia Compagnone… I would to know what year this was.

Peter Millington… it’s on the poster – 1965!

Lloyd Johnson… I think this would have been June 1965 as they played Dave’s birthday party at The Pamdor ‘Take Five’ club upstairs from the main coffee bar the day before their gig at The Witchdoctor….The club was on the 2nd floor ,2 floors above Hepworth’s in Queens road. Halfway through the set there was knocking on the 2nd floor Clubs blacked out window.I told Les Martin R.I.P. who managed The Club and he gently opened the window and there was Johnny Blackman who worked at KEPS Casuals ( the best clothes shop in Hastings at the time). He had been banging on the street level glass door but couldn’t make anyone hear 2 floors above so made the decision to climb the drainpipe….What a laugh!…. I’ve just found the poster image for The Witchdoctor gig so they played The Pamdor /Take 5 Club Dave’s birthday party the same weekend with Peter Frame in the band. Pete Millington/ The Confederates we’re the support band at The Witchdoctor gig…

Pauline Richards… Never had a membership card used to just climb up those stairs!

Marilyn Spence… I don’t remember having a membership card and I used to spend hours there too!

Nicola Dobson… Yes me too

Robert Carey… A Sunday was sometimes Witchdoctor for lunchtime – Pam Dor for coffee and over the Cinema across the road for the film.( Gaiety??)

Mick O’Dowd… I don’t remember having a membership card although I practically lived in there. Mind you I think the disco was upstairs and I tended to stay downstairs in the pinball room and the coffee bar with the jukebox!

John Busbridge… I remember walking into the glass door at the bottom of the stairs and nearly knocking myself out!

Mick Mepham… My sister took me in there once when I was a young ‘un…

Patricia Burgess… Home away from home, as Barry Herbert working there then…memories

Paul Coleman… Spent many a happy hour in the Pam Dor. I remember once they opened up really early in the morning to cater for the people coming from the all nighter on the pier. – might have been the one with Jimi Hendrix?

Lloyd Johnson… I use to clean the floors before I went to Art School and would work behind the bar some evenings….

Peter Millington….Eric behind the counter at the Pam Dor Early 1960’s.

Mick Knights….That’s the ever popular Eric, the owner, serving. I, along with just about every teenage lad, was banned by him at one time or another!! The Pam Dor had the first Discotec in Hastings, which was on the second floor, a place I never entered, nor did very many, as it soon closed. its second incarnation was the Astral club, which morfed into Toff’s.

Peter Pursglove….i did the door up there for a few years until it closed Alan ,Mollly Russell ran it ,busy little club

Tom Boyer….Great times, we loved it, a fabulous place to meet. Tom & Lin Boyer (nee White)

Sue Bartholomew (Nee Finch)… I remember the Pam Dor, it was the best place to go, we paid a shilling entrance and that also got you a coffee or a frothy hot chocolate, and sit in there for as long as you wanted, it was always busy and behind in Middle Street was a long line of Lambrettas or Vespas belonging to some young lad who was in the Pam Dor.

Colin Bell… Love this photo Pete, met my first ‘proper’ girlfriend there…happy days…

Mick Mepham… Who were your ‘improper’ ones Colin and are you still in touch with them?

Nicola Dobson… Spent a lot of time in there…I remember that seating area..they should have coffee bars again Im sure they would be popular!
