Cris Kennard…. Gosh I worked there from school 1963 onwards. Used to dress the models in the windows and do packing on top sales rooms. Many memories cycling to work in all weather’s from other side of town.

Pauline Richards… The in place for fur coats!
Cris Kennard… Pauline, we used to try the furs on sometimes before the store opened. Then parade in front of the huge mirrors. Crazy days.
Tracy Birrell… I loved Philpots. The beautiful wooden interior. My Nan was a waitress there for a while in her young days.
Nigel Ford… my late aunt (my 95 yr old mother’s sister) worked there in the 30s. She would have been 105 now but been gone 15 years.
Alan Esdaile… I remember the shop but don’t remember going in there. I’m pretty sure when mum was shopping in their I was plonked in front of the toy shop window nearby, watching the train go round.
