Andy Gunton… Stu Huggett is writing a feature for The Stinger magazine all about Paul Simon and the gigs he played at the New Inn, Sidley and the De La Warr, Bexhill in the mid 1960’s (64/65).

if anyone has any info about those gigs, especially if you were actually at either of them, we’d love to hear from you. Any photo’s, cuttings etc would also be great to see.

Geoff Peckham (referring to the photo of Lol)… The madman of Little Common Road! Rock on, Lol.

Andy Qunta… Yeah! Great Lol pose!

Tony Qunta… Yes that pose brings back memories!

Glenn Piper… That is how I remember Lol 🙂 our very own Keith Moon. I mean that as a compliment 🙂

Geoff Peckham… (top photo) That’s well early, isn’t it. Where and when was that?

Mike Curtis… Early? Around 6.30 I reckon.

Tony Qunta… Must have been pretty early as it looks like I just left the office! Wish I had kept the snakeskin strides! 😉

David Miller… Looks like a Arbiter Fuzz Face there on the floor…

Yvonne Cleland… Looking like a dude… 🙂

Andy Qunta… Probably ’71. Tone doesn’t seem to have the Strat yet!

Phil Gill… Andy,  I still own your old 12 string in that picture. One day, it will be restored to its former glory and I will make it ring to the chimes of “Castle on the Hill”.

Andy Qunta…Wow! I’d completely forgotten you had it, yet there it is! Fabulous to see it again! Hope you get it going & have fun with it!

Alan Esdaile… Could it be All Saints Hall, Sidley?

Geoff Peckham… Very likely, Alan. We played there at least once in the early days. My folks came see us there, I recall. My mum came in and my dad stayed outside. During the break I went out to ask him why he didn’t come inside. He (a danceband musician who resented the coming of the noisy ‘beat groups’) replied “I can hear it perfectly well from out here, thank you”.
