Terry Corder, Will Thomson, Tony Barraclough and Kevin Hoad on drums.

Yvonne Cleland…..Awwwwww what a great band they were! Yes, Will has his hand on Tony’s knee, and Tony is a bit nervous. 🙂 I do believe these were taken at the Yorkshire Grey. This was before Wesley Magoogan joined the band which later metamorphosed, lost Moff, Tony and Terry, added Den Wootton and Mike Tanner and became Felix.

Andy Qunta…..Excellent!

John Wilde…..Really good to see these photos. Great days for all.

Pete Fisher…..remember being present at a rehearsal in a church hall in Hastings, where Terry was the tall guy on bass and vocals,, with an amazing vocal range, and it was Loud!!

Terry Corder… Wow! That’s going back a bit. Probably 1972/3.

Tim Moose Bruce… saw them on the pier. they were support act for Budgie 1981 or 1982

Will Cornell… Can’t read the other bass drumhead…if it says “Mutha” I’m afraid he’s either set them up backwards or he got his gear mixed up with that belonging to a hardcore hiphop/rap act……

Tony Court-holmes… lol with hair

Linda Day… I was in same class at school as Terence Corder.

Mick O’Dowd… He became a teacher I believe Linda

Stephen Winterbottom… I was in a couple of bands with Gary back in the day and I’ve been trying to track him down and get in contact… Anyone know if he is still in the Bexhill/Hastings area?
If anyone has contact info for him it would be awesome!!

Alan Esdaile… Happy to pass on any information to Steve.

Ernest Ballard… Ah Gary Broughton. Remember gigging with him n Dave.

Stephen Winterbottom… still trying to track down Gary Broughton… seems to have vanished ….

Laurie Cooksey… Rock Museum Autumn 1969, posing alongside someone else’s mini in Parkstone Road, Hastings. Left to right: Tony Carr(lead vocals), Terry Corder(bass guitar/vocals), Dave Gurr(lead guitar/vocals), Laurie Cooksey(drums/vocals). Rock Museum had formed in early 1969 as a 3 piece heavy rock group, Tony Carr joining on lead vocals in the summer of 1969. The group split up at the end of 1969.

Janine Anne Hemsley… This is great.

Andy Qunta… Saw Rock Museum rehearsing in a Church hall in late ’69, shortly after moving to the Hastings area. Very impressed, especially with Laurie Cooksey! Remember thinking it would be great to play with him in a band one day!

Geoff Peckham… You never know, Andy. It may still happen!

Sarah Harvey… These photos are absolute gems

Colin Fox… I have to say that I have never heard of this band, but they certainly look the part. Great photo.

Mick O’Dowd… It’s amazing how many bands are coming out of the woodwork now thanks to Lol. Can’t say I remember these either so it is great to see them and just goes to show how lucky we were/are in Hastings to have such a rich musicak heritage.

Mark Asseenontv Scutchings-Stevens… I remember Dave Gurr in 1976 when he was living in Crawley ! He was riding a Honda CB500T . What’s become of him now ?

Ian McGilvray… Is Laurie still playing? I saw him behind His kit on many occasions in Bexhill.

Alan Esdaile… He’s still playing Ian, with the 6T’s (next gig The Comet 30th Aug 2014) and with a reformed Factory.

Janine Anne Hemsley… Terry Corder too .

Jan Warren… Oh, great to see this photo – I remember these guys and did some of them go on to form “Die Laughing” and “Factory”??!!

Andy Qunta… Laurie was (& is!) in Factory, and he & Terry were in Die Laughing, and are now also part of the 6Ts!

The Fabulous 6Ts call it a day

The Fab 6Ts… The times they are changing indeed. It is with great regret that I have to tell you all that The Great Harry Randall has decided to hang up his plectrums for good and has retired from making great music. Terry and Lol consider that The 6Ts without Harry would never be the same great band, so they have decided that this is the end of The 6Ts. The 6Ts would like to thank everyone that that has supported and enjoyed the band over the last 35 years and wish you all the best in the future. Terry and Lol are going to continue playing, so if you need a bass player you can message Terry through facebook. If you would like a drummer send a message and we’ll pass your message onto Lol. Lots of love to you all, The Fab 6Ts.

Tony Davis… Sorry to her that. Hope Harry Randall is ok

Pete Houghton… That is Sad news Wish Harry all the best

Shelia Maile… Oh dear I did like the 6ts. good music

Andy Qunta… Sorry to hear this! Such a fabulous fun band! Best of luck to each of you!

Phil Gill… Well done on the 35 years chaps and best of luck to all three of you. Thanks for the entertainment.

Robert Searle… Sorry to hear this news, was looking forward to seeing you at the Hailsham club.Hope Lol and Terry find something soon.

Dave Nattress… Shame but good luck all on ventures new!

Tony Bird… Best wishes to Harry on his retirement well earned , but if Lol and Terry want to do a Georgie Fame, Nice ,Soft Machine, Peddlers, Alan Price type set with me on Hammond and Piano , give me a shout

Pete Prescott… Sad news. Best of luck guys.

Stuart Moir… We’re all getting close to the time when the body won’t do what we ask of it, I felt like shit after our first practice sore arse sitting on a drum stool for two and a half hours

Andy Maby… Aww guys, that is sad news!! You have been such an inspiration for so many others (including myself!) and will be sorely missed! Thank you, thank you!!

David Oakley… Sorry to hear this , shame it ended during a plague and lockdowns it really is 🙁 all the best regards from Dave (Schnoz)

Daisy reformed gig with Butch and Dave & Charlie – Hastings Pier 26th April 1974

Terry Corder, Kevin Hoad, Wesley Magoogan and Will Thompson

Janine Anne Scott… This crazy bunch rehearsed next door to us in Godwin Road in the late 60s. Terry was our neighbour. Fun days.

Gerry Fortsch… One of the best local bands.

Yvonne Cleland… What a lovely pic of Terry, Moff, Wes and Will. Oh my heart, I was just a young girl out of school and then I fell for Will and Daisy xxxxxxxxxxxx

Die Laughing – first photograph – Mallet Hall Bexhill – May 1977

Supplied by Lol Cooksey

First photo of Die Laughing, Mallet Hall Bexhill in May 1977. Terry Corder bass, Kevin Williams vocals, Lol Cooksey drums and Phil Thornton Guitar.

Trisha Ann…. That’s Mick Mepham on the drums isn’t it not Lol?

Roy Penfold… Certainly looks like Mick!

Alan Esdaile… Doesn’t look like him but definitely Lol.

Jim Breeds… I bought a Die Laughing 7 inch in Courthouse Street yesterday! You Got The Power/Hard Living Man on Ocean Records OC 003. Bit of a punt – I haven’t had a chance to try playing it yet to see if’s OK.

Phil Thornton… haha ! It was high energy back in the day and fun to be on guitar for a change !

Richard J Porter… Now known as the 6Ts with Harry Randall replacing Philip Thornton. Saw Harry earlier today.

Phil Thornton… As far as I know the 6Ts are harry, terry and lol. Different material than DL – my replacement was Mick mepham ! The early DL material also featured 60’s covers but it was very stylised and delivered with a punkish attitude – an interesting mix with kev’s angelic soulful vocals ( I wonder what happened to him ?) when Mick took over, original material became the main focus with a classic/melodic rock approach ! I remember they put on an outstanding performance for the melody maker rock contest (1978 ?)

Andy Ives… And what a great band they were too

Kevin Williams… Moved to London…….formed ‘Rye & The Quarterboys’ (8 piece soul band) then ‘The Hunger’ – ‘The Stand’ , now got a 5 piece called The Cry. So still above ground and still doing it.

Ernest Ballard… Phil Thornton on guitar i never knew that

David Miller… PGT manifests music via a bewilderingly wide variety of instruments and is also particularly exceptional on the guitar – he has been for as long as I’ve know him. I nominate him for the Todd Rundgren Multi-Instrumental Born To Synthesize award.
